5-double crochet popcorn stitch so that it pops to the front
  1. Work 5 dc stitches in the same foundation stitch.
  2. Drop the active loop from your hook.
  3. Insert your hook from front to back under the top 2 loops of the first dc of the group.
  4. grab the dropped loop with your hook and pull it through the stitch.
Insert hook front to back
Insert hook front to back.
Pull loop through
Pull loop through to complete front-popping popcorn.

  1. Work 5 dc stitches in the same foundation stitch.
  2. Drop the active loop from the hook.
  3. Insert hook from back to front under the top 2 loops of the first dc of the group.
  4. Grab the dropped loop with hook and pull it through the stitch.
Insert hook back to front
Insert hook back to front.
Pull loop through
Pull loop through to complete back-popping popcorn.


Note: Popcorns may be increased or decreased in size by changing the number of double crochet stitches included in the group to be joined to gether in the popcorn.
The example uses 5 dc in the group. You may prefer to use 4, 6 or even 7 in each popcorn.
