Cooper, Hey Bear & Wagner
Cooper, Hey Bear & Wagner

I found this wonderful blog by Jen Hayes that taught me how to make a dog in a sitting position. That may not sound like a big deal, but it is. Just notice the positions of most amigurumi projects. They are usually in a standing position, or sitting with floppy legs like a teddy bear. But, Jen's is pretty much a realistic looking dog. And, her sistem will work for other animals that sit like humans, in the same manner, such as apes, other canines, cats, racoons, pigs, bears and pandas.

I needed a tiny dog to be a companion for Catfish Charlie who would stand at about 14", but he sits on a rock beside a stream. Eventually I worked my way down to 4" Cooper, the black lab. But that was not before the creation of 7" Wagner and 6" Hey Bear who tags along with Giuseppi Panetti de Lucca, the Tuscan bread baker.
