Amigurumi is a popular type of crochet. The craft was invented by the Japanese. The word is a blend or the terms ami which means crocheted or knitted; and nuigurumi a stuffed doll. These little creatures come in the forms of humans, animals, and often come come the entertaining world of fantasy.

It often takes the form of an animal or fantastical creature with an aesthetic that's best described as cute. This makes amigurumi ideal for kids or anyone that likes button noses and rosy cheeks.

First Amigurumi project
Every artist needs to start somewhere.
And Lisa (to honor her pattern creator) was a first attempt at amigurumi.
Unfortunately, not every amagurumi project earns the designation of pretty or cute.
This basic doll pattern is by Lisa Auch , and it was a valuable tool
to help me get started in this new craft.

Julie & Molly
These little gals, Julie and Molly came soon after.
Julie is on the left. Poor Julie has so many curls that she has trouble holding her head up!
Hats don't weigh as much as tons of curls, so Molly will keep her hat on at all times.
These girls hail from Amigurumi Today

Still need to work on faces, but these dolls were sold.
Amigurumi Today
This little old lady was my first attempt to sculp the face. She wasn't intended to be an old lady, but there she is. What can I say?
