½ lb prosciutto, sliced (bacon may be substituted)
½ (8 oz) pkg lite cream cheese, softened
12 spears fresh asparagus, trimmed


  1. Note: If using bacon, be sure to parboil or otherwise partially cook before wrapping the asparagus. Bacon requires much more cook time than asparagus.
  2. Preheat oven to 450°F.
  3. Blanche asparagus in boiling water for 1-2 min. then immerse in ice water.
  4. Spread prosciutto slices with cream cheese. Wrap slices around 2 or 3 asparagus spears.
  5. Arrange wrapped spears in a single layer on a greased medium baking sheet.
  6. Bake 15 minutes in preheated oven, until asparagus is tender.
